How does BluGives work?

BluGives connects donors with identity-verified recipients for direct peer-to-peer donations. You browse recipient profiles, choose someone to support, and send a donation. The recipient receives the full amount you intended for them, and you get a transparent record of where the money went.

How are recipients verified?

Every recipient on BluGives goes through identity verification before they can publish a request or receive funds. We verify legal identity, validate the request details, and re-check accounts that show unusual activity. We do not allow anonymous fundraising on the platform.

Does 100% of my donation reach the recipient?

Yes. The recipient receives the full donation amount you choose. BluGives operates on a small platform fee and standard payment processor fees that are disclosed at checkout — these are not deducted from the recipient's payout.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Direct peer-to-peer donations between individuals are typically considered personal gifts and are not tax-deductible. We provide a donation receipt for your records, but BluGives is not a registered 501(c)(3) and does not issue tax-deductible donation receipts.

Can I get a refund?

Donations on BluGives are intended as direct gifts to verified individuals and are generally non-refundable once disbursed. If you believe a donation was made in error or you suspect fraud, contact trust@blu.gives within 24 hours and we will investigate.

How do recipients receive their funds?

Verified recipients connect a payout method during onboarding. Funds from completed donations are transferred to that payout method on a regular schedule, subject to standard fraud and verification holds.

Is BluGives available in my country?

BluGives is rolling out support country by country. Donors can typically give from anywhere supported by our payment processor; recipients must complete local identity verification, which is currently available in a growing list of regions.

How do I report a suspicious profile or donation?

Email trust@blu.gives with the profile URL and what concerned you. Our trust and safety team reviews every report and can pause accounts, hold funds, or remove profiles while we investigate. Read more on our trust and safety page.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion at any time by visiting our data deletion page. We process deletion requests in line with our privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.
