How to help someone in need

You do not have to be part of an organization to make a personal gift. With BluGives, you can review an individual recipient profile and the full fee calculation before deciding whether to continue.

Four steps to make a real difference

Step 1
Review a recipient profile

Read the recipient-provided story, location context, and any social-account review status or trust signals displayed.

Step 2
Send a donation

Choose an amount from the current $5 to $50 range, review both fee lines and the recipient amount, and continue to the payment provider.

Step 3
Follow the impact

Review available transaction status and any recipient-provided updates without treating the updates as an independent audit.

Step 4
Stay connected

Report inconsistencies or off-platform payment requests and decide independently whether any later available gift fits your budget and risk tolerance.

Common questions about giving directly

Can I really help someone with just a few dollars?

Multiple smaller gifts can add up, but BluGives does not guarantee a funding total, outcome, or use of funds. The current minimum entered amount is $5.

How do I know the person is real?

Recipient profiles may display a social-account review status and trust signals. These signals provide context, but they are not a guarantee of identity, need, future behavior, or how funds will be used.

Does my donation actually reach them?

The current donation flow deducts a 3% payment-processing fee and a 2% platform fee from the amount entered. The exact fees and the recipient's net amount are shown before payment.

Is it tax-deductible?

Direct peer-to-peer donations between individuals are typically considered personal gifts and are generally not tax-deductible. Available transaction-history fields depend on data stored by BluGives and returned by the payment provider.

What if I see something suspicious?

Do not continue the payment. Email giveablu@gmail.com with the profile URL or transaction reference and a factual description. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, complete card details, or unnecessary identity documents.

Helping feels different when it's personal

Most of us want to help, but the usual options leave us feeling disconnected. You donate to a large organization and never learn whether it changed anything for a single person. You walk past someone struggling and wonder whether handing over cash is wise or even helpful. The desire to help is real, but the path to doing it well is rarely clear.

Helping someone directly changes the allocation decision. When you choose a specific recipient profile, you are responding to that person's stated situation rather than an organizational category. The story remains recipient-provided information and should be evaluated critically.

BluGives adds account confirmation, social-account review status, a fee summary, third-party payment, and transaction context. Those controls do not provide the same personal knowledge you would have when helping someone you already know.
